Kongres byl Italum pridelen na AGM v roce 1999 na zaklade nekolika informaci prednesenych pane Solettim, z nichz se nektere pozdeji ukazaly byti lzive. Napr. Svedove a Francouzi byli rozhodne proti poradani kongresu v Italii, pozdeji (kdyz uz bylo jasne, ze v nekterych vecech Soletti lhal a budou i organizacni problemy, napr. ze nebude levne ubytovani) i navrhovali, aby jim byl kongres odebran, nikdy s tim ale neuspeli.

Delegat(ka) CAGo, pokud je mi znamo, vzdy hlasoval(a) pro kongres v Italii.

Trefne to Dino napsal. Mne se vsak jako nehrajicimu kongres libil velmi mnoho!:)

… jen si treba vzpomente na lonsky kongres u nas, kde prvni tyden danovi hraci (vcetne Top 32) “chcipali” horkem a dusnem. Ve Frascati meli klimatizaci nonstop.;)
A o financnich cenach nemuze byt rec, to prece vsichni vedeli, ze Italove penize nedavaji. Otazka je, proc jim byl znovu pridelen kongres a hlavne kdo se pod tim “podepsal”?

cung fou: I have some personal impressions:
1. The top group with 64 players (4-dan and stronger) was too big, so the class differences in some games were huge. Next time it’s better to limit the top group to 32 players or change the system at all.
2. Svetlana did not meet any top European players, except Siivola and Groenen. I played with Silt, Colmez, Bajenaru, Kulkov, Groenen and Ilya Shikshin. Is it better to call her an Asian Champion?
3. It is necessary to use penalties for players from the top group, not playing all their games. They signed the agreement form before the tournament, but failed to follow it. I can see 9 players, starting from the main group, who missed some of their tournament games.
4. The situation with prizes was really strange. The organizers had two tourist vouchers to Italian resort cities (hotel+ meals +travel expenses). They gave the first one to the winner of the Open Tournament – Park Chi Seon from Korea, but Svetlana, a new European Champion, got nothing except heavy diploma, made from wood. Why did they give the second voucher to the winner of all-players lottery? By the way, I got $1.500 for winning the last EGC in Prague …
5. I will not talk about the invitations, venue, hotels, roads, food, weather, number of players, congress bulletins, live-translations and other details. It was not the best congress I played.
